Make-Do Library of Things

Membership

The Make-Do Library of Things is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community project in the Illawarra Region with access to a wide variety of tools, equipment and other useful resources.

How to join

Anyone over 18 is welcome to join the Make-Do Library of Things.

The Make-Do Library of Things is membership based - $80 annually or $22 a quarter for adults. The fees go to maintaining the library, tools and building the collection.

It’s easy to sign-up:

  1. Create an account online in our Library.
  2. Read and accept the Liability Waiver and the Borrowing Rules & Tools/Equipment Use Policy.
  3. Purchase the right membership for you via our secure Stripe payment gateway.
  4. And please always bring in a government-issued photo ID to Make-Do crew when borrowing.

Memberships are good for 12 or 3 months and can be renewed at any time.

Reserving items

Once you have chosen the items to reserve from the Make-Do website, you must go to the cart and submit it.

Your reservation is only complete when you have received a confirmation email.

FYI – Make-Do cannot guarantee the item is ready - if an item gets returned the same day as your reservation and is not in working order or is a hazard, we cannot loan it out again.

Pick-up and returns

Make-Do is open from 5pm to 7pm Thursday and 9am to 12pm midday every Saturday (except some public holidays - please check Facebook for updates)

Please keep in mind if you have reserved something, it will/may need to be returned by the previous borrower that same day. We cannot guarantee the time the item will be there if being returned that day.

Please respect the tools and borrowing times so everyone is happy! :)

When returning: it is recommended to come in the first hour (eg between 9am and 10am) to ensure we can check the item before loaning out again.

When picking up: it is recommended to come in the last hour (eg between 11am and 12pm.
